Morning Sickness: Pomegranate is a tropical fruits that is used extensively for controlling dysentery and stomach pain. It is also used to control nausea and vomiting that is observed in pregnant women during their first trimester. Pomegranate has characters that are useful in holding on to the food and bile particles in the stomach. Here is a time tested recipe for controlling morning sickness:

  • Crush a single pomegranate fruit to make a thick paste.
  • Take 1 cup of this paste mixed in 1 cup of water, on empty stomach early in the morning.
  • Do not drink any hot beverages with this recipe and never use milk to mix this juice

Another useful recipe to control morning sickness is an infusion made out of:

  • Meadowsweet 2 parts
  • Black Horehound 1 part
  • Chamomile 1 part

Drink three to four cups of the infusion every day till the symptoms are subsided.
Bleeding: Slight bleeding during pregnancy is quite among women who have a history of reproductive problems. However, this could pose a problem to health pregnant women as well. If bleeding persists for many days, it can pose danger to the pregnant woman with a severe anemia and weakness. There are many herbal recipes that could be used to make an effective remedy for controlling bleedings:

  • Pluck a handful of Cynodon grass and remove all impurities
  • Crush the leaves in a pestle and mortar till you get a thin consistency
  • Add a bit of water to make a thick paste
  • Separate the juice from the solid waste
  • Take 6 tsp of this juice at bedtime for seven seeks.

General debility: It is common for a pregnant woman to feel very tired and worn out especially in the first 3 months. You can make your own home made herbal concoction to tide over general debility and weakness and here is a famous Indian herbal recipe to overcome weakness:

  • Choose clean and dried roots of ashwagandha (Withania)
  • Dry and remove the excess moisture
  • Powder the dried roots into a thin talc like consistency
  • Take 5 gm of this powder twice daily, in warm water sweetened with sugar.
  • Continue this for about 3 weeks.
